In 1993, he founded Moon Boot Lover (Click for a list of Alumni Crew Members) in New York City and is the creator and driving force behind the band that became a cult favorite for its high-energy shows and genre-blending sound. The original power-packed “Rocket Soul” trio consisted of: Alan Evans, Owen Yost, and later joined by Neal Evans and John Hawes.

He led the group through multiple national tours, building a loyal fanbase drawn to Peter’s dynamic songwriting and charismatic leadership. In 1997, the original four piece band went their separate ways. However, Peter has continued, to this day, his namesake Moon Boot Lover’s legacy to influence musicians and fans who crave authenticity and groove-driven music, along with a wide cast of members rotating in and out of the band’s lineup.

His collaborative history includes artists from pop, rock, funk, soul, jam-band, folk, bluegrass and jazz communities—reflecting his versatility and deep musical respect. These partnerships have shaped his sound into something both timeless and unmistakably his own.

Shifting gears for a few years, Peter also fronted a Muscle Shoals-influenced project “Peter Prince and the Trama Unit” fueled by songwriting sessions with guitarist, producer Johnny Trama, bringing in heavy hitters such as Eric Kalb, Marco Benevento, Joe Russo, Paul Alstrand, Brian Thomas and Gary Wicks to knock it out of the park, which they did nightly!
